Will Lady Louise Windsor demand to be called a princess when she turns eighteen?
Posh Pooch Asked: Will Lady Louise Windsor demand to be called a princess when she turns eighteen?
As a male-line granddaughter of the monarch she is entitled by law to a royal and princely status – and as no Letters Patent have been issued stripping her of her title, there is noting to stop her from demanding her right to be called a princess. Isn't it enough they make her walk around with lazy eyes they have to make her live as a commoner? Why so cruel?

She might ask one day! But,since the 1990's, the Queen has chosen to operate under Letters Patent issued by George V which limits the number of people who bear royal titles. The Queen had to cut costs and one way was to limit the number of royals on the Civil List; the other way was to cut down on the number of people who bear royal titles. Many citizens had been complaining, and some still are today, about royals and their lifestyles and perks, even though many of the royals are not on the Civil List and don't work for the Queen, so they get no Grant-in-Aid and the like.
Limiting the number of royals also makes the title itself more magical and special, or it did in the eyes of George V.
According to this Letters Patent, only the monarch, the Prince of Wales, and his eldest son and the son's eldest son can pass down royal titles:
Whitehall, 11th December, 1917.
The KING has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, bearing date the 30th ultimo, to define the styles and titles to be borne henceforth by members of the Royal Family. It is declared by the Letters Patent that the children of any Sovereign of the United Kingdom and the children of the sons of any such Sovereign and the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales shall have and at all times hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of Royal Highness with their titular dignity of Prince or Princess prefixed to their respective Christian names or with their other titles of honour; that save as aforesaid the titles of Royal Highness, Highness or Serene Highness, and the titular dignity of Prince and Princess shall cease except those titles already granted and remaining unrevoked; and that the grandchildren of the sons of any such Sovereign in the direct male line (save only the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales) shall have the style and title enjoyed by the children of Dukes.http://www.heraldica.org/topics/britain/
I also am flummoxed by the choice, since Andrew was allowed to pass down his royal status. If the Queen wanted to reinstate George V's Letters Patent, she could have started with the grandchildren's generation following those guidelines.
If she can see what side the breads buttered on. She challenged in the looks department and a title will give her more kudos in the marriage stakes.
